Model of a Zulu Herring drifter fishing boat BF178 Linnet, based in Banff, Banffshire. Made from Mussel shell, wood, brass and copper wire. Displayed within a glass display case.
Built in 1899, by W R McIntosh, Ianstown for George Smith Ianstown.
Zulu's were a common sight along the east coast of Scotland. They were a sturdy design and fast, with a large hold for the catch. Many were later converted to motor power.
